There are noticeable differences in both the size and the carved design over all the beads.
Thanks tie.dye.cat. They do have a slight shine that's why I think shell and not bone. They are too light for glass and I'm pretty sure they are...
The are definitely carved as no two are alike. They have areas of a grayish color. I have found similar when I search that are described as bone....
I think they are charming no matter how old or young they are. I would have bought them.
