They are Rather large though @ 21 1/4'' X 15 3/4'' for a book seems a little big but not impossible. And i found what the medium is here,...

Picked these up the other day, thought they were fascinating and in good shape, found a little info on the producer ( Lemercier & Cie from Paris)...
