It is possible for a cup to sit there Tom. I believe it to be the wrong shape for a bread plate.
So you're thinking possibly a saucer, Tom? I've noticed there are a lot of small nicks on the sharp edge as if something kept banging the edge
The sharp inner edge is what is throwing me. A fairy lamp makes sense. I'll have to see if I can find one with a low base like this.
