What an odd yet lovely thing! It almost looks like someone cobbled it together from a kralik vase,70s brass chandelier and enameled flowers!

I went to an estate sale where it was chickens. Everything,even the switch plates,were chickens.The poor dear was truly one tracked mind!

The frame may be 1870,but to my eye that embroidery is more 1940s.The colors look more modern.
It may be behind the bottom edge of the frame,carefully remove it and check. I really like this a lot .It looks like thats the original victorian...

My take is that youngsters today arent really into the provenance for an item as much as the "look". They dont seem to care if its a 18th century...

I think its a reversible coat,possibly 1940s.
