There is a name for that type of stone with the indentations, it escapes me now... will research.
Looking at the amethyst, it is not completely round, seems a little squarish, so this may be the original stone, bezel set to hold it.
The one with navy blue and orange specks looks like foiled art glass, harelquin, perhaps.
