There is no way to positively ID silver from a photo, you need to take it to be tested.

Hard sell I think. A lot of people don't have dedicated dining rooms these days, they have kitchen islands with seating and other less formal seating.

Try the tooth tap test...tap them on your front teeth, then tap known glass and known plastic. You will immediately be able to tell the difference :)
