Chinese, you usually see these in porcelain ..oh and lotus pot, usually for plants, so I guess you could call it a jardiniere

Yep an opium lamp, chimneys are sort of conical shaped - nice to have one but these sell ok with or without.
They made a lot of other stuff too as you just found out! Not a bad bowl though, even if not majolica.
Yes well that hole certainly suggests it was lamped at one time.
This is probably a vase or part of a vase and the bottom has fallen out. Common problem with these things if folks put water in them for years.
