In the USA PT usually stands for platinum,but the OP's ring is marked ct. for carat/karat which is usually a UK mark.The PT could be a maker's mark.
The mark in the link is 18ct and PT.The ring you posted has had a 3/4 shank replacement and has been sized.The mark could have been from scrap out...
