I just use reflective "space blanket" (mylar) on the windows - keeps the heat down primarily, but must help with UV too.

No one would paint in oils then highlight with gouache. I think you may have a print with a bit of gouache highlighting.

Hard to say from the pics what it is and although it would be nice to know for sure, without handling it it's almost impossible to say.
Oh boy! ...the sapwood is the outer layer (nearer the surface, under the bark layer) and the heartwood is in the centre.
The big one is the lid of an incense burner and the other is a coin or at least it looks like a Chinese coin.
Not Western Red Cedar. If it is yew, the sapwood is creamy yellow and the heartwood brick red.
