I do have 2 but all my boxes and antiques have been acquired by hard work not by spending lots of money..... I'll explain.... I take about 12 hrs...

Yeah both handmade screws could have been form an earlier date but very unlikely, even if that were the case it still doesn't explain how it...
Seeing as it's sand cast I very much doubt trench art and handmade screws predates 1837 but hey ho....
This traveling apothecary box dates from the 1820's, made of Cuban mahogany with a lovely brass campaign handle, only 2 period replacement bottles...
I have no doubt it's crudely made, probably provincial blacksmith ect but as to it's age being 20th or even 19th c that wouldn't explain how it...
I'm sure its the oldest thing I own...well all apart from the wife that is lol
It would have taken a skilled person a good long while to make the inlays, these are made by gluing 1000's of thin strips together then sawing...
