Mold marks mean it is not Bakelite.
If it's not marked you are going to have the metal tested to know what it is. If it's gold, it's possible the flowers are a different fineness...

More recent pieces like this are generally not called carnival glass but iridized glass. Carnival glass was produced much earlier and the patterns...
