    Very rare is the silverplate that is worth anything. There are some exceptions,but rare indeed. I dont think it'd hurt it one bit to paint it some...

    What do you make of this 17th century day bed?

    Id expect to see woodworm holes at the very least were it as old as seller claims. And much more warping and signs of wear. Not much from that...
