The etsy linked stone has "phantoms",the OP's photos are hard to see what the stone is.

The marks are set too deep for any wear unless it was it was done on purpose. Perhaps a copy made from an original casting,no marks on the ebay...
It's a box clasp,locking "bar" on the exterior and locks with the notch on the spring/tongue part.
The best grade of Lapis has no pyrite. Not all lapis has pyrite.
2nd photo down there appears to be a pink spot,on the right side it looks like a flaked area.The color of the beads shows what could be white...
