Thank you for joining us! You're very welcome here. Debora
Do you love it and want to own it? Or do you envision flipping it for a profit? Debora
I was mistaken re Figueras so not necessarily Catalan in origin. Debora
I think it's quite pretty. Debora
Well, let's see what others think. But as my great-grandfather used to say... I've decorated hundreds of Christmas trees... and these are...
If memory serves... These are newish. Used to be available in series. Like this one....
Oh, that makes sense. My stupid mistake. Apologies. These are called azulejos de figuras. Debora
Beautiful. Just imagine the places that's been and the things that's seen. Debora
Would/could you post the link for your Made in Spain dating? I think a 1898 to 1910 date unlikely. Debora
What good eyes you have. Santiponce? Outside of Seville. Now that's an idea. Can't find a fabrica de azulejos there though. Debora
He is darling. Debora
Yours aren't very old. They're made in the traditional style but the "Made in Spain" tells you they're newer. Debora
"Sant" means "Saint" in Catalan so could be the start of the name of a village or a ceramic maker. Could/would you post a link to the etsy.com...
I know Figueras is a place. (Dalí was born there.) I assume the tile was bought there -- lots of tourists -- but made elsewhere in the province....
Can you make out the raised lettering under the marker? I can only make out "Sant Ipo____" Debora
Can't be terribly old. The black marker reads "Figueras" and "Cataluña." A souvenir, I'd think. Debora [ATTACH]
I've always associated that teal blue with Méxican glass. Debora
