Idle guess is it's a proclamation of some sort, possibly awarding a title and coat of arms to somebody.

Seems to be the same signature under the image, so I'd guess that's the painter rather than the manufacturer of the ceramic.
It wouldn't hurt to look, but in this instance there's a good chance you would find nothing. Might find a printer credit.
I would guess that's the same size as the portfolio: 17 3/8 x 24 1 /2" borders included.
Sadly, doesn't seem to be all that unusual back then for someone to have had their day in the sun, only to die penniless and forgotten years...
How does the size compare to the portfolio prints?

Others know much more about this than I, and may have more info to add. Inside the bowl, right at the bottom center, there might be a raised mark...
I should have been able to find it in Rontgen. There are 2 Müller marks, not quite the same, but close enough.
I can't find it, but I'm certain I've seen it before, and probably on these boards. Someone better at searching than I will find it.
