I have never seen either with 6 legs and horses hooves.
The faceted stone looks more like a pink sapphire,in another photo it looks more yellow/gold.
The base is antler,but there's nothing in the photos to suggest what the scrimshaw piece is besides being soft enough to scrimshaw.

I saw that spot on the original photo,even under magnification it's hard to tell if it is a solder glob,tool mark,or something else.

@Tricia Harr You would need to look at the center stone with a loupe,in the photos it looks like there are many bubbles.
Without a maker's mark it could have been made by anyone,white,black,oriental,Dead Head,etc.
It wasn't stamped,it was hand engraved.It is not great engraving and many jewelry stores had a bench jeweler with basic engraving knowledge. this...
