Haha my vintage set, from my grandmother, has this but the hook has long since broken off before it was mine. I have the more common square shaped...
The hook is for a matching wedding band. It would have had a hole on one side to attach to. Rubies are likely lab made.
Damn
Yay no dots! That means it's not a inexpensive, recent product. Editions can be made after the originals in higher quality methods, but they...
It was me. I'm the market. :joyful:
Yeah show us the danger noodle!! :pompous:
I love LOVE cavaliers so I have seen this serious monsieur many times before. Not an original but a nice print with faked brush stroked veneer as...

Another vote for glass. It's a beautiful color and texture. The metallic bits probably sparkle very nicely too.
I bow to others on the amber question. I probably couldn't tell the difference between the real and fake with my current knowledge! If you are...
Usually the tell is the back. Bright white to the edge, machine cut, uniform surface. 20th c paintings don't tend to have the glass-like varnish...
Best I can do with what I see, but it does look like a mark in a rectangle.[ATTACH]
The ring looks like it has a rectangular mark on the underside image, to the right? Or is that just a metal fineness mark?
Agreed with both comments from @wlwhittier ! A very pleasant piece of work and a unique idea.
It's a lovely image at least. Would need more pictures to say for sure. They do make prints, often on canvas, that have a brush applied top coat.
Congratulations on your haul! Lots of fun stuff in there. Black piece could be vulcanite. Give it a good rub and see if it smells like an eraser...
