Off to the sale this AM. Last minute pricing found a few surprises. A 40s dodge truck toy that was a dealer promo was $950.00 on Worthpoint. We...
In a snowstorm no less :wideyed:
Looks more like ash or, possibly, chestnut to me. Mid to late 19th century. European in origin seems likely.
If that is a J. B., possibly Jennings Brothers but I don't quite see their usual quality in this.
Absolutely circa 1900 oak. A bit more up-scale than some we see from that era.
The sale starts tomorrow morning. There were already 3 people in line when I left at 3:30 PM this afternoon.
Large painting with children/bicycles was done by Garret Boone. Has a 1962 Indiana exhibition label on back.
Great sleuthing! Did not think this American and this is a company I was not aware of.
Nice tile. I get the arts and crafts reference but a bit garish, color-wise. No idea who made it but doubt American.
Certainly still a great time to buy. Have seen a slight up-tick in interest in Roseville and Rookwood. Weller is still pretty much in the dumps,...

This is one he did not do. It is also the only one with some artist information on it. I will try to get that information for you.
John was the artist for most of this. A few done by his contemporaries. All done in the 60s.
I am sure that I will have some opportunity to buy but have not seen anything I am crazy for. Hope to end up with a work of art when all is said...
Not sure who made the chair. Has a label of a company I had never heard of and can't remember now. Someone thought an Adrian Pearsall design but...
This is the first of about 5 sales. John collected for 60 years and never sold a thing. I knew him for 35 years. We have rented a former bank...
This is the estate sale that I have been working on the last several weeks. Time to make it public! Here are some pics and a link to the actual...
I think circa 1920 is a pretty good bet but probably made the same way for decades. Label style is consistent with an early 20th century date.
Looks like it might read Printing and Stationary Co. May be a retailer's label or totally unrelated to the file box.
Separate names with a comma.
