Is there a reflection or is there a different colored metal on the top of the beak?
Size?Is it magnetic,looks like a pewter mold for the insignia.

With what appears to be bubbles on the bottom of the lid and other locations.....I would question if it were actually stone.
Soapstone "compressed talc" is a magnesium silicate hydrate mineral,does not remotely resemble alabaster which is a calcium sulphate mineral.
What does the inside surface look like? It is not engraved,but chased or acid etched.
The bottom half looks like satin spar(selenite),the top may be the same.
With the recent photos,it looks like the piece is plated mystery metal.
