Just found it buried in my car today. It was too cute and silly to leave there for a couple bucks. I assume there is very little value here but would still love to know who made it and when. One of those kooky things someone might love to have. I actually love them in an odd way. If anyone knows the “pattern” let me know please! Couldn’t find them online anywhere when I tried.

Cute...To me it looks like 1960's Ceramic class work.

My first thought was a food commercial character. Not Welches' though. I was thinking it was cereal.

Well - looking at it again, I realize it is a plate, not a bowl, so maybe not cereal.

Really cute! Not that it should be but the plate/bowl thing, is it an ashtray? Looks sort of like a cigarette dip on the rim.

I think it’s just coincidence where the hair meets the ear in keeping with the shape of the face. Could be but pretty sure these would be geared towards a child. They were smoking a lot younger back then though.

I am dubbing it "Grandmajolica".... From the "buy the greenware at the studio , clean, glaze and re-fire it there yourself" venues popular in the 1980's (?)

@J Dagger - Plymouth in 1621? No, no, no - Pontiac in 1953!

Horrors! I'm guilty of creating a few myself. There ought to be a law that you at least have to scratch your initials and the date into the bottom of it before final firing, so that it doesn't later confuse challenged ceramics collectors such as myself.
