The pearl looks far more better now! Check it doesn't move after the soaking... Back then they were "glued" on a little gold stick with plaster mixed with organic glue which comes soft and dilute in water...
As pointed by @Bronwen, the few bad looking stones are surely a replacement, others are good rosecut diamonds
Thinking of the pearl, it may too be a replacement (should have been more flat/button shaped if original)
Feel your ring is 1880/90, so not cultured pearls then, and... rosecut was still used or... re-used

 

Check out ebay. I've seen numerous pieces that have the same diamonds and are listed as as antique or victorian. Usually they are set in silver and are brand new. I am definitely with Debora on this. It is odd as the pearl is probably glued in, since the back is open and shows no pin? With that big a pearl I don't think that it would have remained in the setting very long without getting knocked out.
