17th Century Chinese tapestry

I know very little about textiles but I always look for signs of age-maybe there are some but I can't pick any out unless there's been some fading. I think we'd want to see more of it, like the back, and more close ups of the front. What size?

Haven't seen anything like it. Try and find out who it may have been made for.

I can't tell what the maker was trying to depict, can anyone?

I hope you don't mind, I cropped and enlarged your photograph so I could see the details of the thread and stitching better. The enlargement makes the background look pink. Is that the true color?

 

It would be difficult to date this based on these photos. Seeing the back would help and knowing what kind of thread it is would be most important. It would have to be cotton or silk thread to be 1600s. Here is a whole page of images of 17th century Chinese embroidery.
