    hi folks

found this pretty fashion lithograph in a charity shop today for £4

the information i'm just quoting from the back, but not sure if thats correct

trying to figure out who the AS mark is

seems a better quality of paper than a magazine page but unsure

    professionally framed

    image is 11 1/4 by 8 3/4

no luck with image search or the with the initials

    any thoughts or info appreciated

I almost bought 2 Journal des Demoiselles prints (both indeed with the added title and mag name) a few weeks ago, but they were 15 EUR each, and the condition wasn't as good as yours, and I decided not to buy them.

This type of print was popular in the '50s and '60s, sufficiently so that there were reproductions. The repros I have encountered were printed with with offset lithography, but your photos are good enough that the tell-tale dot matrix should be apparent and it is not (at least to me). Yours is probably fine. They are illustrations from fashion magazines, so not particularly hard to come by, but they do have a period charm. Magazines of the day put extra effort into their best illustrations. Color lithographs or steel plate engravings were sdded in on a heavier grade of paper because they required more vigorous printing processes than the rest of the publication.

luckily they were modern bending tabs at the back, so easy

looks like its been trimmed but some pencil info

not much value i would think, just as a decorative thing
