It looks plated to me (i'm happy to be wrong if you can show some marks) but the way the base is soldered just doesn't look the right way to me. I also think the handles look clunky and poorly made. I would be surprised to see a large amount of silver used on handles poorly attached. The center of the bowl is the most interesting part to me, but also doesn't scream of quality (i'm guessing this piece is screwed or welded on?) I do wonder if that's some sort of christian/religious depiction.

The front of the bowl tone is a big inconclusive to me. I can see the "rolling lines" on the edge which look promising, but I'm just not sure what to make of the piece. If you asked me to guess, I would say the handles and the center piece wasn't silver, and the rest of it would then likely be plated also. I'm just not sure how common it would be to use real silver with plated attachments...Why not do all of it in silver or none??? We would love to see more photos. Like 10 more, and a few more angles of the name, because there's some Hans Eskildsens out there but also some Hans Eskesen's etc...

The tarnish is certainly on solid silver albeit .830 purity.

Thanks for chiming in. A knight + a princess + a swan boat = Lohengrin. Legend says he was the son of Parsifal, who was one of only two of Arthur's knights to succeed in finding the Grail, & Lohengrin himself has a mystique & power from this connection, so it's Christian/religious that way.
