Featured 18th Century Telescope (1800? 1790?)

    Normally I like polishing brass, but with this, I think it'd be more hassle than it's worth, so I'd rather leave it alone.

    I guess you didn’t see my earlier comment. There were a lot of brass telescopes made in Birmingham England in the late 19th century. With the looks of the screw (not handmade) and the overall appearance of the telescope, I see no reason to think this isn’t one of those.

    Sorry Jeff, there were a lot of replies, I probably missed yours. I dunno whether the screws are original or not. There are small holes in the brass rims which suggest they may not be, but I'm not 100% sure.
