I was wondering if anyone knows much about this 1939 New York World's Fair trinket I found at a thrift store for $4USD? What was this originally? Was it a necklace style locket or a keychain? What is the history behind this?

I see there are two people inside the photos slots on the inside.

You don't give size but my first thought is it was meant for a charm bracelet.

    I agree, a charm for a bracelet.

I cannot tell what color metal, if it's silver, it's worth a happy amount more than the average price of a charm bracelet decoration.

I would think chain original. So a locket then.

Guess it depends on how you feel about your boyfriend whether you wear him next to your heart or dangling off your wrist.

Now, if it was the 1964-65 Fair I'd know a whole group of interested buyers. There is a FB group for The New York World's Fair 1964-65. We occasionally show items from the 1939 Fair and I think some people are cross-collectors - they collect different Fair souvenirs.

Think I have a big clunky pin from that one, with the Unisphere. Somewhere. Will have to remember this if it turns up.
