1939 Small Drawing Signed

    Looks like Ferberg to my eye. And could be a student piece, an exploration of tone to capture shadow and light. A pretty standard Drawing 101 exercise.

    I think "extra emphasis" may be the name of the classroom exercise.

    Oh, god, how I hated those exercises. Necessary, but boring. I totally agree it's an art school student image with teacher's note.

    As far as framing, yes, it happens. I have two pictures from my Vesper George School of Art days that are framed. My mother did it, but I got them when she passed. They're in the attic somewhere.
