Featured 1940 WW2 oil painting 'the evacuee'

    hi folks this was another painting i found looking through my old stuff, that i never did anything with

    all the info is on the label, cant find any info on the artist

    i remember not particularly liking it, but liking the fact that it was ww2 and also the price tag

    do you think the title is referring to the chap waving his hankie ?, boy ?

    any thoughts theories comments appreciated

    i think it's about the plane that's out of formation.....
    the fighters look headed towards the front...and the field workers are waving them on.....
    could be early spitfires.....

    I suppose the tag could be from a later date as well though

    Around that time, children were evacuated from London, and sent to the countryside for safety from the bombing. Perhaps the evacuee is a city boy during this period?
