I imagine the Ekterinaberg painting is not as yellow as the photo makes it. Maybe more like this:

Look at the difference in the way the fine hairs around the face are painted in the two versions.

No wonder that's what happens when you click there. I have seen sites where you get additional info in that pop up way.

@Figtree3 As Emily Litella would say, Never mind.

I did the quick scroll on trip advisor. Sadly I did not see this one, but it was a nice tour!

Definately two different artists, the first portrait the sitter has a smile (or smirk) 0n his face .. the second sitter has a far more gentle face .... Joy.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Thanks for the tag, even if it wasn't needed. I had not looked in on this thread yet.

In the end OP sort of answered her own question, but it's killing the rest of us to know names of artist & sitter. The Ekaterinburg museum does not appear to put its full collection on line, or maybe, without being able to read Russian, I just couldn't figure out how to search.

They don't seem to have contact information on their web site either.

I found the search for pictures)).

Perhaps it turns out a copy))? But who is depicted?

I have not found the information. I just found a match in the pictures.
But once there were similar images, it turns out that the picture is a copy.

By the way, my friend sent me photos of this picture for attribution.

I think that the photos were taken in some of the museums of Yekaterinburg by this user.

I also did not understand where to look for the name and author of the picture)).

Apologies: answered his own question. I was sleepy & Slava seemed like a feminine form.
