I found these at my local thrift store Tuesday & bought the yellow & white building one, but decided to wait on the green apple girl because of it's size - and I was short on money(!), but I tried to hide it until I could check with you guys here.
Can anyone tell me who the artist was of the one I bought & of the one I want to buy?
I will pass on the green apples if it's by an unknown artist because I have so many pieces now I am trying to slow down - a little - on my art addiction.
Any help would be greatly appreciated - thank you!

I can't help with apple girl, except that the artist seems to have been inspired by Botero.

The title of the other one is in Italian, "il ponte di Babele", "the Bridge of Babel", a take on the Biblical Tower of Babel.
It is signed Liselotte Holm, and I wonder if this could be she (painter as well as author):

The bridge in the Babel one of course resembles the Rialto Bridge/Venice-all i can find by L. Holm are books,no prints/serigraphs.
The only Gonzalez print i found went for $900,so with the prices yr friend charges there should be a profit. But as you know fine art prices are a very fickle thing & without having a 1stDibs acct or established gallery-if your artist aint a 'superstar' returns vary wildly (& we Ebayers are cheapskates !).

Hopefully from before supermarket growers forced said apples to go to the no-taste side. They used to be good but now I'd rather eat the canvas.

Well someone else liked it too - it was gone when I got back yesterday.
If the other one isn't a big winner I'm probably going to give it to neighbor.
I had a guy drive from west coast of Florida to me on the east coast because I'd posted having 400-500 pieces of art & I'd sell all for $5000 - when he saw how much he said he'd have to measure his warehouse to see if he could fit it all - but he did buy 40 albums for $600 + another $209 on 4-5 boxes of art books, so it wasn't a total waste!

Congrats Bro ! Journey do have any big Flea Markets in your part of Florida. Before we moved to the soggy but beautiful wastes of the PNW,we'd go to Swaps with 200-400 vendors.Lots of sellers were pros, but lots not .

Only good one is the Lincoln Road Antique & Collectible show that comes every other Sunday during the winter months/tourist season. I've gone to it a few years but do pretty good having a estate sale at home each week-end - I made $890 today & still have tomorrow + I usually do $2k - $3k a month on eBay.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I wonder... we can't tell when her photo was taken, but the print is dated 1972. Fifty-one years ago.

Also wonder whether the surname could be Hölz, or Hölm.

I do not see Liselotte. I see de sels ti holis with an accent over the o. Not being a linguist, I don't know what it would translate to.

JM- Do you ever find anything at the Lincoln Road Antique & Collectible show ?
Although it looks like you do just fine at your local thrifts,so why waste the gas ?
Your metal chicken/egg machine's still one of my all time fave finds/posts ! I would've bought that off you in a sec,but don't think my soulmate would've loved it as much as me,plus we aint goin' for the farm house chic look.
But that chicken was a great piece of rural Americana.
