Big difference in the price. I guess depends on the subject. Plus, the $1300 was from 2008. Too bad there is no photo of the first piece.
Any chance to pin down the locations?

There are 5 photos of the painting at the first link, the one that sold for $1300.00. It looks like maybe Venice to me, boats, water, buildings.

"Steps and Flowers" looks like very early work. Second piece a possible Norfolk scene.

Norfolk! My guess was far afield!

The artist's great-granddaughter who provided the biography in the first link may be collecting these. She's probably findable via the internet.

My bad, Safari did not load the liveauctioneers pictures. I see them now.
What is the pile on the first painting, sand, grain..?

Darn, this is what I get at your museum link Debora. Maybe they don't allow linking for some strange reason.

I was wondering the same thing. It's also piled in the hopper in the center of the painting.

How odd. Works for me. According to Museum, W.P.A.P. workers. 1934.

Subject matters quite a bit. Would call these regionalist works. Think the first of yours to be particularly good. Would be nice to know location. Second one is good but not as strong as the first. Both are better than the flowers painting. Think I like both better than the $1300.00 painting as well, though others might not agree. Big city scenes tend to do well. None are as strong as the museum painting.
