    Hi All,
2 pieces I need help with.
    any information appreciated
    thanks for looking:)
#1 has a Genuine Eskimo made sticker on it, 2"H - would this be tusk? It is polished up, so maybe a glaze or finish on it? What is it?

#2 is a carved brooch, 3"L, signed S. Matalpi, what kind of bird is it?

The first item is a character called a "Billiken". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billiken

The material looks like it might be a sperm whale tooth. I would be more certain if the base showed a conical hollow, but it looks like a plug has been inserted. How big is it?

thanks 2manybooks:) it is 2 inches. I never thought a tooth because of the plug thing but it could very well be. I've got some sperm whale teeth around here, will compare the size
Billiken, I should have known that, thanks

I think I have this sticker on an ivory (not sure what kind) bottle opener. It’s really faded but pretty sure it’s the same funny looking image.
