    hi all

i bought these yesterday from a friend of mine who does house clearances. he let me have em both for £3 each as they were unframed

neither are fantastic, but guess you get what you pay for !!

No 1 is of instow a village across the water from me, looks like its been painted in a lowry type style (a bit warped in shape)

No 2 have no clue where its of, but really liked the sky, and how the light is bursting through

light is very bad for photos are the moment

any thoughts or info very much appreciated

The Instow landscape is rather Lowry-esque but doesn't have his confident use of perspective. The other is a popular subject and might be a copy of another work.

Cool thanks deb, I think you could be right about it being a copy of something

komokwa The Truth is out there...!

    no ..really....
    the windmill.....bin there done that....BUT...
the boats, the landing, the folks, the ominous sky, the muddy road, the house behind the mill......and the sheep clearing the side of the hill....

this is an artists work.....copied or not !

the other ....reminds me of naive work from the US east coast...
    it's darling !

if yer me......u see a lot of paintings come thru this site....these are nice !

Thanks kome, twas supposed to be a happy emoji, not an embarrassment one, I agree :)

Definitely think they deserve a good framing job

Hopefully it will straighten the 1st one out a bit

Thanks, fid, looks like they are all up in that Norfolk Suffolk area, so if it is a copy of something, might help me find it

If it's a copy, it's a nice one. The Instow one looks to be done from a photograph.

Been looking at alot of Lowry paintings since your comment deb, and your dead right

It's the composition of the figures at the forefront and how they differ in size that gives the great perspective

    Yeah I get that deb

Just never realized before how much the change in figure size affects the painting

Always thought they were all the same size in lowrys work

But the gradual decrease in size of the figures from the front creates the depth

I don't really know what I'm talking about

But I can see the Appeal of his work no matter how naive :)

I'm loving Lowrys work, the other side of what you think should be good

    But just is
