    Hi,
The below cufflinks were bought in a job lot.
I would like to know more about the Ethiopian coins as I do not understand the writing. What denomination, how old are they? Google returned several prices ranging for tens to thousands. It would be nice to know if they are valuable.
One pair Egyptian and one pair maybe Mayan.
Opinions on them would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Kind regards,
    Simona

@daveydempsey is the resident coin expert.
I suspect making them into jewellery sadly devalues them but still interesting and cool pieces.

As coins, they are numismatically buggered.

First picture third lot down look like Empire of Ethiopia reform coinage.

83.5% silver and either Gersh or Birr depending on the weight and size, 1895 to 1925

    Hi Dave,
Thank you for the information, I wonder if you could advise on the denomination, is it 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 or 1 Birr or Gersh?
I could weigh them, maybe it helps to get closer to identify the coins.
Do they not have a year on the coin like the ones in the West?
I found the below link, but can’t associate the letters.

    Thank you.

Each one of those circulating coins in that list has a weight in grams so that might help but you have the weight of the fasteners to contend with too.
I can't read Amharic so can't help on the dates or denominations.

They could all benefit from a clean, which will also make it easier to see what they are.;)

The first pair is so dirty I have no idea what they are.

The second pair looks based on the Aztec Calendar or Sun stone that was found in Mexico City. If so, they are Mexican souvenirs.
There are probably marks on the back that can help with a date estimate. If you clean them you should be able to see them.
Mayans didn't have cufflinks, but you probably mean the Mexican ones based on the Aztec Calendar or Sun stone.
