In those paintings blues are dominant.</p><p><br /></p><p>His Millet-inspired paintings have the typical swirls and yellows and blues of the later period van Gogh, and none of them depict a maritime subject.</p><p>Had he painted the sea, he would have had to go on an assisted outing to the Mediterranean.
