! Just picked up a brilliant lot of bottles bought from my local auction! Magnificent and the condition mirrors my excitement haha. Only flaws seem to be the wear to the labels. Absolutely love them. Gonna keep my favourites and eventually sell the rest to get my money back. This style of chemist bottle was used continentally, as opposed to the more commonly seen in the UK, ribbed bottle with the gold & red label and the smaller mass produced green poison bottles. The brown and clear versions of this bottle are fairly common but the uranium and blue glass versions show up much less often. The one here with the black label I haven’t seen at all elsewhere online. I’d date these comfortably at between 1880 - 1910, maybe a little later. The reflective gilding is a date give away Found makers names on the bottom of them! Didn’t except it from bottles of this variety. The blue bottles have ‘Alemania’ stamped on which translates to Germany in Spanish and the uranium green have ‘G. & D.’ on. Found makers names on the bottom of them all, I didn’t even expect any of bottles like this! The blue bottles say ‘Alamania’ I’ll post a picture of them in their full uranium lit brilliance when I next have my UV light with me.
