A German or Austrian 935 silver bracelet I fell in love with.
The designs remind me of Renaissance and Baroque brocade velvets. And of the time a conservator of the Bargello Museum in Florence took me behind the scenes to show me their amazing collection of antique handwoven Florentine brocade velvets, books upon books of them.

Anyway, my love for jewellery and brocade velvets aside, I can't find the maker's mark. It is ED between dots or stars in an oval cartouche.
I got the bracelet from Germany, where 935 silver was used. Austria also used 935.
There are no other marks than the ones below.

    Thank you for looking.:)

Can't help with your question, but reminds me of decorative edging from a tapestry. But the Unicorn Tapestries were on the way to the Colmar Treasure, so maybe I have tapestry on the brain.

There are worse things to have on the brain.:playful: It is certainly antique textile inspired.

Not sure if this will be helpful since 935 was typically Austria, Germany and Switzerland but there was an "ED" was registered by Edward Dimier on 8 July 1884. ..... marked with the Swiss 935.

I can see why it pleases you! A nice piece :)
    For the maker's mark, I see a 6 pointed star E D and a heart:cyclops:.

To get an idea of how delicate the design is:

Thank you Laura.:) I didn't include Switzerland because they generally use the official assay marks. The other two tend to be more sloppy with their marking.

I can only find an Edward Dimier as a London-based British importer and jeweller, with this mark:

There are no British assay or import marks on the cuff.
Maybe the Swiss 935 piece with the Edward Dimier mark was imported to England from Switzerland. I expect it would have more marks to tell of its history.:)

At first I thought it was a star and a heart too. Then I started doubting myself, my eyes can go funny on me.:wacky: But if you see it too, a star and a heart it is.

Both the bracelet and the mark are interesting. Love the animals. :)
I definitely see the heart on the mark.

When enlarged, it’s not so clear to me as a Star.

Have seen the mark before, always reminds me of Pforzheim maker Emil Brenk's 'EB' mark - pretty sure it's also German, around 1920s-'30s. Will poke around and see if anything turns up...

Thanks Cheryl, I came across the EB mark while searching for this mark. If only it were ED, with this lettering.
Thanks for the age estimate, I thought so too, but have never found anything to compare it with. But with 935 and a small wrist size it is certainly an older piece.
I didn't add the size, but it is small by today's standards. 5.8cm diameter at the widest part. Fits me perfectly.:)

This is the best I can do, any reference I find to the mark is unidentified, and difficult to track back to an image - this piece shows it with a Laurin mark, used by some German jewelry and small goods makers as a sign of fine quality (often Pforzheim based), only used for a few years in the 1930s: https://www.catawiki.de/l/14895613-...it-laurin-punze-qualitats-siegel-blauer-stein

May remain unknown - so many German firms disappeared in the '30s...

    Thanks Cheryl.
It is more than I could find. And it gives us an approximate time frame for the maker, and the fact that he was Laurin recognized, so quality.
I had read about the Laurin mark before, and that it was mostly for Pforzheim makers. It was abandoned after protests by makers who felt they deserved it, but weren't allowed to use it.
I had a hunch it was Pforzheim, not very difficult of course.
True, for very different reasons, none of them happy ones.
I will certainly remember ED for this beauty that came into my life, and the joy of looking at it and wearing it.

Beautiful and so intricate. Lovely beasts too even if the dragon thinks it's a chicken or vv!.
How do they do that delicate lining?
