A BUNCH OF RANDOM THINGS NEED SOME HELP??

Sis is absolutely right - for online sale the maker name is critical. Once you know it then it is also easy to search solds on eBay to see what the market value is. Neither teapot looks special to me for resale - in general pottery and porcelain is a hard sell today with a few exceptions. To find those exceptions you need to know who made it. So start with the markings underneath and you can research it yourself or here. But this is one of the hardest things to make a lot of money on - and it’s hard to ship.

Costume jewelry also requires knowing who made it if you’re going to make money from resale. But if you can find jewelry priced as costume that is actually authentic precious metals, then you can sell for a lot more than you pay. That requires you to know the difference - you need to know more than the seller.

It helps a LOT if you live in or can shop in a rich area (thrift stores in rich cities and suburbs or in retirement areas like Florida and Arizona are best). That is why some people like journey find lots of stuff cheap while others almost never see anything worth buying at their local thrift stores. This is I think the most important determinant of whether you’re likely to find anything worth reselling. Yard sales can also turn up things, but real yard sales (someone moving or cleaning out an estate), not the people selling the same thing every week as a small side business.

Also different thrift stores have different expertise and you need to find the types of things they let slip through. Some put out all silver pieces at silver plate prices in which case you’ll occasionally score with a piece of unknown sterling way under melt value. Or some put out all jewelry at costume prices. Others put out all handbags for the same price so if you know which are designer pieces you can score there. Start with what you know, but be willing to walk out without buying anything.

This may not be the time for you to start since everyone makes lots of mistakes especially at first, so if you need to watch your money carefully now you may end up with things that are hard to resell or that you will take a loss on. Better to use your money where it is needed until you have extra you can use and until you know better what is an underpriced bargain.

Could be but it doesn’t look like a Navajo setting though or like real turquoise. I could be wrong.

I am sorry, I did not mean to sound critical.
You sound like a very strong person. You will eventually make things better for yourself and son. You sound like a fighter.

We are here to help you learn as best we can. So keep asking your questions.

    As for your items.
The two pictures are 1960s decorator pieces. Not likely to sell easily or for much money, so enjoy them.

The ring that Brad mentioned, the earrings, the snow globe and the cat are things that I see will turn quickly. Albeit not for a lot of money.

You added a couple of pictures at the end - one of a necklace and picture. I can't enlarge either. Can you add a picture of the necklace again, full size.

I was NOT trying to criticize you either, as a person who has been there, done that I was more trying to let you know that depression can and does push one further down into a well of hopelessness .. it is so important to keep your head up and stay strong .. and I certainly wouldn't tell my story here unless I wished to help someone else. I'm sorry that you took it the way you did as It was never meant to hurt. I wish you luck for yourself and your little child .. stay strong, Joy.

Oh I wasn’t trying to attack you or come off as being nasty or rude (it’s the Brooklyn girl coming out in me) so I apologize. I just er emotional and upset when people tell me well why don’t you work!!?? Like I enjoy being broke and stressed out!? I will be ok. Let me see what necklace you are speaking of.

My last hole to make a few dollars for rent and my sons Christmas is a China dish set I have that I may be able to get money for. However I do t know where to go to sell it... I need to sell it all quickly

Are any of the rings marked, are they silver?

This is the information I am waiting on. These items don’t belong to me...well I just told my friend I wanted the one turquoise ring that someone said was Navajo. When
She brings it to me I’ll fill in
    That information.

You're certainly doing it tough but at least you are thinking about ways to make some cash. Selling collectables [if they are] and vintage and whatever is hard work, whichever way you do it and you do need to keep looking and learning and doing a bit of research online [as others here have said also] if possible to teach your eye. Perhaps it would be better to buy a bit less but buy better. It's not always a question of buying what you like. Sounds silly but it's about quality. But I don't mean to lecture. What I really posted to say :) the pussycat - I have an Italian cat sitting on an ornate cushion - a little kitsch [my lot hate it] but she is not that modern and worth a bit. Yours doesn't have a cushion or a ribbon though - does the underneath indicate that it might have broken off or fallen off or ?? Are there any marks or a signature?
