    I think your Egyptian faces are part of something else, but that isn't much help. ;) I also think they're older: the glass colour and quality suggests it to me.

    I have always wondered about the static electricity rest for amber, it seems to me you rub any beads they will generate static electricity :bored:

    Not all beads, but anything which is capable of generating and holding charge. So plastics, including natural ones. But not wood, or stone, or glass.

    So I guess I am right in thinking the static electricity test is unless because plastic is just as capable of passing the test as amber. And a lot of faux amber is made of plastic.

    It's not definitive, to say the least. ;) Yes, the static test isn't much use. I like the UV one best. If you know what you're looking for, it's pretty conclusive. It won't differentiate between "natural" and reconstituted, but that last is fairly obvious.
