A double bowl masterpiece , or a smooshed Frankenstein one off ?

I don't even know how to photo it....
I love the rich colors...but no clue as to how they were applied....
I've never seen the like of it, but for 3 bucks, and that interesting mark, I'll make it a candy holder..

.If you're not happy with the mark I can shoot it again tomorrow....maybe with some cinnamon ....
it's petite...I'll have the size soon....

size is 6 1/4 wide at the rim, by 4 3/4 , & 3 inches tall.

 

could it be used for egg separator? One side yoke the other whites?

 

Serving bowl for dips?

 

It's a piece of studio pottery, and probably difficult to identify more closely, although it is signed.

A few years ago, it was very popular among potters (especially those who sold at craft fairs and "Saturday Markets") to make similar pieces, thrown on the wheel, and then joined while the clay is still wet. Glazing then completes and adds to the strength of the bond.

One doesn't see them too often these days. Perhaps the potters got tired of customers asking what it was, or what the intended use was.
