A custard, probably; I use it for fresh, potent aioli, when Dungeness crab is in season; 3 3/8" diameter at rim, 2 3/8" high.
Is the pattern generic, or does it ID the maker? Same query for the outer glaze; I have at least one other piece with that luscious, thick dark molasses exterior but in a different pattern, somewhere around here. The interior is bone-white glazed; the dead-flat bottom looks like pale yellow ware. Someone a few years ago suggested Bennington, but I have doubts. What can y'all tell me? Thanks for lookin'!

There's a name for that brown, treacly glaze, but danged if I can remember. Starts with a "r?". Senior brain, gah.
