Featured A little bit of Australiana with the photos

    Picked this up at today's auction and at AU$90 probably paid top price for it but you know how that goes when you like something and stop thinking rationally. It is certainly feels very early last century and I thought it might be "Grandmother/Mother" and "Mother/Daughter" but I'm not quite sure about that. The frame is a thin veneer on top of slightly thicker wood and has a split in the veneer on the left side and a small chunk of veneer missing on the tip. Size is about 42cm wide and 33cm high.
    Any ideas on dating the clothes??

    Charming, but I can't see that the photos are related or original. That bit of photo peeking out the back is very clean ... scratches, missing nails ...

    I like it, and would hazard mid-war, Depression?

    You'd have outbid me, though. See what eBoo says ...

    Given my experience with old photos, if you decide to lift out the backs, there's about a 25% someone will have written names.

    And a 25% they will have written something helpful like "Nanna and Booboo -- daddy's side of the family."

    Odds strongly favor, nothing written. But I always check. :D
