I've had this little dish/pot for some time and recently searched for info. Read all about Sarreguemines, know the pottery was originally in France but later was in German territory. What I don't find is any other redware that looks remotely like this. This is not fine china, feels like stoneware. It is about 5" end to end, 2 1/2"front to back and stands about 2 1/2"tall with the lid in place. The interior of the lid and pot are both glazed and glossy. It would be nice to know what kind of bird is on the top, it looks like a duck but I believe there is a more specific name for it with its long beak and the way the leg and foot are shown. So, my potty friends, I need your help! Thanks for being there!

Linda I
