A tiny daguerreotype ring with a big mystery

[QUOTE="Dick Wood, post: 102896, member: 1462"]I bought this daguerreotype ring a couple of months ago. The ring is engraved "E. M. F. to L. P. Flint." I assume "E. M. F." was E. M. Flint, a man, who gave the ring to his wife L. P. Flint. The inscription is engraved inside the daguerreotype ring. The ring was probably made 1850-1855. The ring has a daguerreotype portrait of a man who looks to be about 25-30 years old (image is tiny and not in great condition, so his age is just a guess). He would have been born circa 1820-1830 (plus or minus 10 years). Any idea who these people are? I've googled possible names for the initials using the most common given names of the 1850's. I used this web site for a list of possible given names: http://www.galbithink.org/names/us200.htm. I also posted the info on the Ancestry Flint surname board. So far no luck in figuring out who these people are. Any ideas about how to sleuth out these initials would be much appreciated! Thanks.
