Great observation Brad-The pigments very thick, so in-person the circular motif is quite sculptural.
Thanks for the insight re the 50's-60's frame date too. The letter based telephone prefixes ended (I think) in 1962. Paint cracking & generous use of pigment may (or may not) indicate an era when oil paint was cheaper.
50's & 60's Pollock wannabees would've known Pollock used house paint & alkyd in his drip paintings-that material might've been cheaper 70 years ago than Windsor Newton or Grumbacher ???

Can't find a signature so far (!), but the hunt will continue.

 

I have a friend who inherited a Pollock. I got to see it up close. There was actually a match stuck in under the paint. We never found the signature but it came with all the paperwork and his client had been a very wealthy NY socialite.

 

That inheritance'd tide me over for a few weeks !
Re the " match stuck in under the paint"- seemed Pollock always had a cig in his mouth.
Bev- it looks like the artist in my painting put a can down a few times on the wet paint making that circular motif.
