Added to my vocabulary “Daguerreotype case”

Pick these botanicals up, daguerreotype cases. Of course I never heard that term before . They are damaged as you can see, both the frame and plant drawings. Don’t know if I intend to sell or keep, but was wondering if they are worth restoring or would that devalue them. I see value in both the frames(all be it half of cases) and the botanicals. Any thoughts? Would these be hand painted water color or prints. Asking because if I try to remove some of the foxing, I wouldn't want to damage watercolor.

Would 1850’ish be about right?
