My birth-flower is Lily of the Valley, and I've always loved their graceful form and sweet fragrance - was always sad as a kid when Mom would rip them out, trying to keep the stubborn invaders from taking over her beds. They don't grow here in Florida, so I've been gathering spoons with LotV and other bell-form flowers since I was a teen, haven't counted recently, but probably have around 75-80 different designs and it was a popular motif, so lots more to acquire in the future.

A couple of years ago gave myself a circa 1870 large Lily of the Valley berry spoon by Whiting Mfg. for Christmas, decided for my birthday this year, I'd add a Whiting cream ladle, along with a pie knife and an almond scoop from the same period by Wood & Hughes. Here are the four together, sizes from 7.75" to 1.5":

I love all your spoons! Only until I viewed your outstanding collection, did I NOT understand collecting spoons! I've only seen the ordinary souvenir type, etc.

I understand why your mother tried to control them. I've tried too, and they aren't easy to dig. I gave up, and now just mow over them........they still live!

I have a large collection of souvenir spoons and they are so interesting! I'll post a few when I get a chance. Maybe I can convince you that souvie spoon collecting is cool also, LOL!

Cheryl, you lily of the valley collection makes me green with envy! They are so gorgeous. Do you display them? If so, how?

Correction: sizes from 7.75" to 10.5"

    Awww, thanks Komo!

Thank you - they are well-balanced and pleasing to the hand.

Thanks AJ - I've always had a weakness for these and similar 1870ish American thin-stemmed pieces, often with applied 3-dimensional elements.

    Thanks, Mike!

    Thank you, Sue!!

    Thanks, Linda!

    Awww, thanks, Judy!

Hehe, and yet they look so sweet and delicate...

    Thank you, Janet!!

    Thank you - I'm a bit spoon-obsessed...

Awww, thank you - looking forward to seeing some of your spoons!

Almost all of my silver is packed away at the moment, but I have numerous glass-doored and open racks for regular spoons - these will probably be placed in a drawer or case with other serving pieces. I'll post some pics of some displays in a bit...

    Thank you, Ruth!

    Thank you, Bluumz!

This was my Christmas gift to myself in 2022, an uncommon and rather lovely bon-bon spoon by J.F. Fradley - they produced several different similar pieces, including another with Lily of the Valley handle, but Lily-pad bowl rather than Morning Glory (I like mine better)...

Thank you, Debora!! You might appreciate that every time I look at the bowl of the first piece I think of a Fortuny pleated silk...

@ola402 Some displays, there are pics of others, but I don't have access at the moment...

An old pic, these were on my dining room wall for about 20 years, spaced by framed 'spoon' postcards:

These were my late Mom's, most are in my collection now:

This rack is one I've only had for a couple of years, the spoons are all late 19th-early 20th century:
