I have a necklace and clip on earring set that I don't know much about it and was hoping someone here could help.
    This is what I know:
My Mom got this as gift sometime in the sixties or early seventies ?
The box is stamped with "Adorna Jewellery To Wear with an Air"
The necklace is aprox. 15 inches long - silver with light blue crystals or some kind of jem stone
The earrings are for people without pierced ears - the fastener looks like a screw type
    My Mom never wore it.
If anyone knows more about this set or if they have an idea of it's worth it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Welcome SandyBeach!

That's a very pretty set. There are a few necklaces & brooches on ebay and etsy under Adorna. Most seem gold-filled or sterling. Have you looked for a marking on any of the pieces to see if they're marked for gold fill or sterling?

    Hi tie.dye.cat
There are no markings on it, and it seems to be sterling. I will take a look on ebay and see what I can find.
    Thanks

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I notice the spelling of jewellery (in the U.S. it would be jewelry). Not sure how many countries spell it that way... but the company would not be U.S.

And welcome, SandyBeach. Some of us have been waiting for the 500th member to join this forum so that we can celebrate. And, you are the 500th!

    Ah, the unnecessary u.

My pet peeve is people who say nu-cu-lar for nu-cle-ar. George Bush used to say nucular and it drove me crazy. He went to Yale, for gosh sakes.

Spasghetties, aspagurus, alumium..... they all rankle.

Aluminium and Jag u ar also fall odd upon my American ear.

My Mom's name is Edna Chambers. My cousins were New England born and bred. They insisted on moving the R in her name. To them she was Aunt Edner Chambas.

My late father-in-law was from Albany, NY. He sometimes came to visit us in Warshington, DC.

My favorite of his, though, was when he said that he needed to get filum and battries for his camra. (This was, of course, quite a while ago, but it's always stuck with me.)

Hey, hey folks, let's not be too hard on the addition of a "u" in certain words, e.g., humour, savour, colour. That is the way I learned those words in elementary school here in the USA many moons ago.

My "colony" (state) was no longer under British rule when I learned those words but . . . .
