Age of vintage/antique sterling silver hair combs?

    These combs are not marked but test as sterling. Measure 2" wide and 1 3/4" high. The tips of the prongs are very sharp. Would these go directly into hair or thru lace?

    Is it possible to date them based on the design or construction? Thanks!
