Featured Alabaster vase/jar - where? when?

    Probably just about impossible to date/place something like this very accurately without any known provenance...that being said, any ideas? Most alabaster vases/jars I find on the internet either claim to be from Egypt or Italy. I suppose the coloring on this one is similar to a lot of the Egyptian ones I'm seeing - but who knows.

    Stands 7.5 inches tall. About 5.5 inches across at the widest spot. The top opening is about 3.25 inches inner diameter. Appears to have been lathe turned, and pretty well polished on the outside. Also would make a great lamp - looked so very nice when i stuck a flashlight in it that I took some pics.

    It sure does! Beautiful.

    I think the small mouth with no defined rim makes it unique, and perhaps easier to identify?
